The Whittier Community Development Corporation was developed to help small business owners turn challenges into opportunities for growth and success.  From 1996-2005 Whittier CDC provided technical assistance, mixed use incubator space, and originated $ 2,029,255 in loans through micro-lending on behalf of small business clients. 

CURRENT SERVICES

Whether offsite or located in an ECONOMIC GROWTH CENTER, an intensive, integrated approach to small business development encompasses the following services on a limited basis:

  1. Individualized consulting and technical assistance with experienced professionals is provided in areas crucial to business, including business planning, leasing, accounting and financial management.
  2. Access to financing through public and private loan programs.  
  3. Office and warehouse space at reasonable rates.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

An integral part of small business sustainability is education and training that will increase the profitability of businesses.  Economic Growth Centers is committed to providing workshops and seminars that will enhance the skills of business owners and bring access to the market place.  Vendors will learn how to sell products and services to medium and large corporations as well as government entities.
